Alice Henry Obituary

HENRY Alice Blanche (O'Brien) Henry, born February 28, 1927, in Barnesville, Ohio, to John and Mary Blanche (Triplett) O'Brien, crossed over to be with the Lord May 5, 2006. The youngest of ten children, she was recently preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years Harley H. Henry. She is survived by children, Becky (Dave) Jahn, Cheri (Jim) Agin, Steve (Denise), Brian (Barb), and Tami Henry all of Columbus, and Tom Henry of Sheridan, WY; grandchildren, Gretchen (David) Monsour, Amy (Adam) McCrea, Alex Jahn, Mike (Amy) McGrew, Nicole, Jake, Olivia, Ian, and Erin Henry; great-grandchildren, Max Carr, Lily and Emma Monsour, Anna McCrea, Mason, Madison, and Molly McGrew; brothers, Charles and John D. O'Brien; sisters, Annie Bossman, Helen Thompson, and Edna Grendell. Her motherly touches will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a former hairdresser, and retired from Nationwide Insurance. She had participated in the Clown Core through Nationwide Activities, Boy and Girl scouting with her children, and been an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church for over 46 years, serving most recently on the Bereavement Committee. Due to recent lack of support from her parish, her spiritual needs were beautifully tended to by Chaplain Ron Willman, whose comfort her family deeply appreciated. Because Alice has chosen to donate her body to The Ohio State University Medical School, in lieu of flowers, her family requests donations in her memory be made to the charity of your choice. The family invites you to join them at a memorial mass at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 1559 Roxbury Rd., Saturday, May 13, at 2:30 p.m., followed by an Irish wake at the residence.
