Alston McClure Quillin

Quillin Alston (Rolly) McClure Quillin, MD, age 82, passed away surrounded by family on September 7, 2013 at the Kobacker House. Born December 2, 1930 in Columbus, OH. Survived by wife, of 49 years, Joan (Donley); children, Mac (Tracy), Amy (Jim) Bechtel, Andrew (Shelly); grandchildren, Ben and Max Bechtel, Trey, Alex, Katie, Kolby, Maggie, Carlie and Brady Quillin; brothers, G. William (Mary Beth) and Robert (Mary Lou) Quillin and their families; many Donley brother and sister-in-laws; many nieces and nephews. He was a member of the first football team at Dublin High School in 1947. Rolly earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the Ohio State University where he was a Sigma Chi. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He practiced Dermatology and Environmental Medicine and was associated with the State of Ohio Bureau of Disability for 30 years. He collected antiques and was a Master Gardener. He loved spending time at his cottage on Kelleys Island and raising black angus cattle at his farm. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 4661 Kenny Rd. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 313 N. State St., Westerville. Fr. David Gwinner, Celebrant. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
