Mark, Sean,Natalie,Patrick and I are just heartbroken over the loss of Anan! The first time we walked onto Thai Orchid in 1991 and met Anan, we loved him right away. We had so many wonderful times, not to mention the best Thai food in the world! When ewe moved back to Chicago in 1995 we had our going away party at Thai Orchid. Over the years we would surprise Anan and come into town. He treated us like family and we loved him. Patrick and i were in Dublin last november. I am so glad i got to see him one more time. I will always remember that beautiful smile and kind heart. Maria and your lovely girls we send our love and condolences, The Piper Family

so sorry to hear that this light is gone from our world. in the mid 80's I found the first thai orchid and loved it, frequented often. you were all so kind and the food delicious. when my brother and his Chinese wife would come to town we would have thai orchid - we all loved it (and she is picky!) I have moved since and don't get there as often, but perhaps someday soon. you just know good people when you meet them and he and his wife were good people. my best to all of you...god bless

Maria, I cannot imagine the sadness that you must be feeling right now. I just learned of Mr. Lee's passing and the tears haven't stopped flowing since. He was one of the kindest men I knew... a true gentleman in his words and actions with my family. I know that you loved him so much. Praying for peace for your whole family during this time and the days ahead. Most kindly, Joy Lloyd

So very sorry to hear of your loss. Anan was always so friendly and genuinely happy to see my wife Susan and I when we came to your restaurants. I will especially remember the time when Anan told us of his love for ribs.... Seemed so amusing when he ran such a wonderful Thai experience. RIP you will be missed.

Maria and Family:
I am so sorry that I learned of Anan's death this evening, which is too late. We first became acquainted with you when you opened Szechaun Wok in the Olde Sawmill shopping center and we have enjoyed Thai Orchid since it opened in 1991-92. My sons said that Anan was the nicest person they had ever met. I can't imagine a future without him because he was so kind and I so enjoyed dining at Thai Orchid. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Maria and Family Klailee.
We are saddened by the loss of our friend of over 24 years, but also find peace in knowing that his personal struggles are over. Thank you for allowing us to share in the joy of watching you and Anan realize your business dreams, and sharing in the growth of your family. We have always enjoyed our conversations with you and Anan, Becky and Ming. A special thanks to you for allowing me to spend time with you and Anan a couple of weeks ago, and for such a long time; we certainly had some memories and some smiles. Peace be With You.

No matter what kind of day I'd had, he always elicited a smile from me. Gentle and sweet are two adjectives I'd use to describe Anan Klailee. My sincere condolences to the family. I will miss him.

The memories of our Friday night meals at Thai Orchid and Anan are overwhelming. John, myself, and the kids are greatly saddened by Anan's passing. The relationship we shared with Anan is something that our family will always cherish. Our children grew up knowing that every Friday was Thai Orchid night. His legacy lives on through his family and the wonderful restaurant he created. Our family will miss your smiling face and conversations when we visit. May your family find a gentle peace in knowing that you made a difference in this world.
Love,
The Davidson's (John, Pennie, Christopher, Amy, and Andrew)
