Ardis Postle Obituary

Postle Ardis Endsley Postle, age 99 years, 352 days passed away on May 3, 2013 in Marietta, Georgia. Preceded in death by her husband of 54 happy years David Jennings Postle. Survived by three children, David residing in Scottsdale, Arizona, Rick (and wife, Rosemary) residing in Charlottesville, Virginia, and Lynne Postle Colley (and husband, Dan) residing in Marietta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Regan Postle Fowler (Mark), Kelly Postle Jackson (Adam), Erin Colley and Ben Colley (Melanie). Also survived by almost five great-grandchildren, Dylan Fowler, McKenna Fowler, Lena Jackson, soon-to-arrive Nick Colley and coming this fall - baby Jackson. Ardis was born in Coshocton, Ohio in 1913 to Edward and Mabel Endsley and had four siblings: Elizabeth Endsley Zimmer, Lister Endsley, Dorothy Endsley Hardesty and Doris Endsley Geese. She spent her adult life in Columbus, Ohio working at the American Education Press and The Ohio State University. Ardis was a 75 year member of the First Congregational Church and PEO. She resided in Marietta, Georgia for the last eight years, living an active life, enjoying time with family, friends and residents of Atherton Place senior community. A Celebration of her life will be held at First Congregational Church in Columbus, Ohio at 11 a.m. July 13, 2013. Internment will take place in the Postle Family Cemetery, Alton, Ohio. Donations in remembrance of Ardis' wonderful life may be made to the Atherton Place, 111 Tower Rd., Marietta, GA 30060 or First Congregational Church Remembrance Fund-Banner Project, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43215.
