Bernard Sampson Obituary

Sampson Bernard Sampson, age 86, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Emerald Crossings. He was born on January 12, 1927 to the late James and Matilda Sampson in Lima, Ohio. Bernard was a fun loving family man and outdoorsman with a passion for the Buckeyes and Roughriders and an appreciation of good food and travel. He was a long time member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Bernard was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Sampson. He is survived by his children, Sandy (Ed) Jackson, Ed (Beverly) Sampson, Sue (Bill) Brough, Chuck (Jan) Sampson and Don (Erene) Sampson; grandchildren, Amanda (Sam), Jeremy (Angela), Niki, Michelle (John), Chris, Nick, Ryan, Aaron and Coley; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Ava, and Khori; siblings, James "Jim" (Betty) Sampson, Jean Young, Merle (Mary) Sampson, George (Charlotte) Sampson, Thelma Houser, Mitilda "Tillie" Washburn, Shirley (Clay) Davis, and Albert (Cathy) Sampson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Rd., Columbus, OH 43220. Fr. Michael Watson, Celebrant. Immediately following the Mass, a light luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 540 0fficecenter Place Suite 100, Gahanna, OH 43230 or charity of your choice.
