I am a 3rd year member of the DWS and feel so privileged to be part of the organization that Carl was so dedicated to. He will be missed terribly and his passing will be heavy on our hearts as we move on without him. But we will know that he is looking down on us as we play, smiling, as the group continues to make beautiful music in his memory! Rest In Peace, Carl, your presence may be gone, but your spirit will always be with the DWS.

Carl was special to me because he played such a tremendously important role in the Dublin Wind Symphony being able to grow and thrive. He helped nurture it along, building a strong foundation and reputation to take its rightful place alongside the many outstanding municipal bands throughout the country (past and present). I thanked him personally and told him how I felt about his immensely important contributions after a concert about a year ago.

I know we all will miss him for a lot of different reasons, but for me, because of the connection that he provided between us, our audiences, and the American Band movement, as well as the manner in which he promoted this connection at all of our concerts, I will surely miss him.

Carl continued to teach right to the end. There wasn't a week that went by without me learning something from him about logistics, administration, dealing with people, music, or education. I'm so blessed to have known him even though our time was too short. Carl meant so much to the Dublin Wind Symphony and me as the director, but he meant the most to me as a friend.

I am so sad to learn Karl has passed away. My heart goes out to you all. I was blessed to work with him on the OAASFEP board for many years. He was a wonderful man who loved helping our state education system and the children of our state to receive the best education available. I will miss him. He was always so sweet and kind to everyone and never had a bad word toward anyone or anything. He will be greatly missed. I'm keeping you all in my prayers for God's loving arms wrapped around you giving you His comfort. With love, prayers and deep felt condolences, Debi Evans

I will always appreciate Carl for the support he gave the Dublin Wind Symphony as band manager. It was easy to see how much he loved music and being a part of a community of musicians! Carl....you made your mark, and you will NOT be forgotten!

Carl was a wonderful man with an enormous heart. As a fellow Dublin Wind Symphony member, I had the honor & privilege of performing with Carl for a number of years. His humor, dedication, sharp whit and kind spirit will be missed by many. The DWS community will do our best to live out Carl's passion for the organization and love of music in every piece we play. Carl truly left a void that will be hard, if not impossible, to fill. Rest in Peace.
