1986 - 2018
Catriona Angela Martin, age 32, of Canal Winchester, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at her residence surrounded by loved ones. Catriona fought a courageous four year battle against breast cancer. Born January 16, 1986 in Greenock, Scotland, she was a 2003 graduate of Canal Winchester High School, and an alumna of Wittenberg University. She is survived by her husband, Dustin Martin; son, Jacob Martin; parents, Garland "Russ" and Linda Hay, Canal Winchester; brother, Joshua Hay, Hilliard; grandparents, Gerland and Mary Hay, Columbus; father- and mother-in-law, Michael and Connie Martin, Bellefontaine; sister-in-law, Miranda (Jason) Greenlee, and their children, Trevor, Braden, and Emily; brother-in-law, K. Cody (Ashley) Martin, and their daughter, Penelope. Friends may visit 3-6 pm Sunday beginning with a Vigil Service at 3 pm at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 600 Hill Road N., Pickerington, with Fr. James Klima, Celebrant. Interment Betzer Cemetery. I think of Catriona so often...her sense of humor, her enthusiasm for life, her love for her son and husband, and how she was a bright light in a sometimes dark world. I am so blessed that I got to know her through Hallie and Michael, and although I only knew her a short time, my fond memories of her will last a very long time. Blessings to her family - comfort and peace.

The Compassionate Friends is an international grief support group for parents, grandparents and siblings who have suffered the heartbreaking loss of a child. Our only mission is to provide comfort, hope and support to every family experiencing the death of a son or daughter, brother or sister, or grandchild, and to help others better assist the grieving family. We meet monthly in Columbus from 7-9 PM on the second Tuesday of each month at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1479 Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229. If and when you are ready to do so, please join us. We need Not Walk Along. We are The Compassionate Friends.
