Charles DeVoss Obituary

DeVOSS Charles R. DeVoss, age 89, of Upper Arlington, a resident of First Community Village, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2008. He was born May 11, 1919 in Cincinnati to Oral F. and Mildred (Barr) DeVoss. Veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in WWII and Korea; graduate of University of Cincinnati, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Retired Professional Engineer and former employee with the City of Columbus Electrical Division, and a member of York Lodge #0563 F.&A.M. Preceded in death by his wife Virginia. Survived by daughters, Deborah (Geoffrey) Hiler and Cheryl (Richard) Kiefer; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on November 28, 2008 in the Burkhart Chapel at First Community Village, 1802 Riverside Drive. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Kingwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, P.O. I was saddened to find this information on the internet while doing genealogy. Chuck was a cheerful man. His sister-in-law Jane was my mother- in-law and I have not seen the family since my ex-husband's passing. My heart goes out to Cheryl and Debbie and their families. .
