Dan was a man I knew and admired for his intellect, his cheerful spirit and his keen sense of humor. 'He was a good man' hardly begins to say it; for me it was an honor and a joy to have known him.

An interesting and interested gentleman to the end, Dan was a part of our Columbus life. Each year when we returned for the summer, our visit with him was at the top of our list of must-do's. We will miss him, but rejoice in his long, rich life.

The McGrew's were next door neighbors while I was growing up on Reymond Court. Never have I known kinder, gentle or more compassionate people. They are prominent in my childhood and early adult memories. While heaven rejoices at welcoming home a faithful servant my sympathies to those left behind.

I remember Dan's presence here at The Forum at Knightsbridge for a long time. He was gracious and for a while he was the 'oldest male resident' while I am still the 'youngest male resident'. I will pray that Dan has an eternity to share his talents with others.
