I was saddened to hear only today (Jan. 3, 2017) of Chris's passing. As for many others who wrote here, Chris was also my immigration attorney and was always available to help. I no longer live in the Columbus area and only learned of Chris's passing when a Christmas card I sent to him was returned, and subsequently his partner David Bloomfield informed me of this sad news. I'd like Chris's family to know that I knew him to be a wonderful human being and I share at least in a small way, their grief at his passing.

I have just heard about Chris's passing and it quite saddened me. Chris was my lawyer who helped with my family's visas and immigration process. He was always very friendly, helpful, and sincere. RIP Chris..

I only just heard of Chris' sudden death from my brother , Jack Shea. My sincerest sympathy and thoughts are with the extended Kempf family. Jack and Jack Kuhn and Chris have been lifelong friends from Bishop Hartley. I know his death leaves a huge void in all your hearts. He definitely left this world a better place. Peace and prayers and fond memories.

I am shocked to hear this news today. I am from Indian living in Columbus since 1999. he was my immigration lawyer. He was there for me in my tough times of my gren card issues. HE IS MORE THAN AN IMMIGRATION LAWYER. Columbus Community has lost a great Lawyer and a great unified human being. RIP Chris.
