David Anderson Obituary

ANDERSON David Orville Anderson, age 66, of Worthington, died Tuesday, July 7 at Kobacker House after a long battle with cancer. David was born October 23, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Orville and Anna Margaret (Loeffert) Anderson. His family moved from Pittsburgh to Valparaiso, Ind. during the 1950's where he would graduate from Valparaiso High School in 1960 and study civil engineering at Valparaiso University, class of 1965. He was member of the Sigma Pi fraternity. While at Valparaiso University, he met his future wife, Carol Lynn Voigt. They were married in 1966. David was employed as an engineer for over 44 years, first working for Bates & Rodgers Construction, then with Complete General Construction for over 20 years. He was an active member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golf, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends and especially his three grandchildren. David is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Carol; sister, Margaret (Ed) Macintyre of Tallahassee, Fla.; sons, Paul (Julia) and Michael (Melissa); and grandchildren, Ella, Joshua and Molly. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2009 at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 2300 Lytham Road. Pastor John C. Stolzenbach will officiate. A time of visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of I-270) and at the church on Friday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. The family has requested that donations be made to the James Cancer Hospital, OSU Development, P.O. Box 183112, Columbus, Oh. 43218-3112 and Kobacker House-Hospice (Expansion Fund), 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Oh. 43214. Online condolences may be made to www.schoedinger.com.
