Edward Scales Obituary

SCALES Mr. Edward A. Scales, Sr., 70, of S. Lawrence, Massachusetts, passed away on Sunday, May 22nd, 2005 at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Scales was educated in the Local Columbus Schools. He resided in Ohio until he moved to Lawrence, MA., where he has been a resident for 45 years. Mr. Scales was a member of the Greater Lawrence Salvation Army in Lawrence, MA. He was Involved in the Rescue Organization of Lawrence, MA., called the CB Club during from the 1970's thru the 1980's. He and his wife Jean were involved together and his CB Name was the "Alternator", and his wife's CB name was "Winnie the Pooh". Ed was an Umpire for the Merrimack Valley Umpire Association since 1997. He loved Baseball and Sports. Ed worked for some 25 + years at the Woodworth Chevrolet Motors, he then went to Auto Use where he retired in December of 2004. Family members include: wife of 32 years, Mrs. Jean M. (Lambert) Scales; children: sons, Jonathan E. Scales graduated Vocational School 2004, Adam J. Scales 10th grade student at Greater Lawrence Vocational Schools, both of Lawrence, MA.; daughters, Shirley Mansour of Belmont, NH, Kimalee and her husband, Michael Martin of Belmont, NH, Debbie Burns of Lawrence, MA., Roxanne Scales of Florida, Lori Ann and her husband, Alan Daly of Derry, NH; sons, David and his wife, Destiny Scales of Ohio, Edward A. and his wife, Kim Marie Scales, Jr. of Methuen, MA., William Scales of New Hampshire, Paul Burns of New Hampshire, Michael Scales of Ohio, John and his wife, LouAnn McIntire of Yuma, AZ; brothers, Franklin F. (Frank) Scales of Ohio, Albert L. and his wife, Dorothy of Ohio, Michael Scales of Ohio; sisters, Patricia A. Azbell of Ohio, Virginia L. (Ginger) and her husband, Robert P. O'Hanlon of Ohio, Judith L. (Judy) and her husband, Paul M. Brown of Ohio, Mary E. Smith of Ohio. Son of the late Francis (Skeets) and Bernadine Scales (Raines) and father of the late James McIntire. As well as 25 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 26th, 2005 at 10 a.m. in the JOHN BREEN MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. Burial will take place at a later date. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 25th, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. Memorial Contributions may be made in his Name to the Scales Family, 5 Temple Street, S. Lawrence, MA. 01843.
