Dr Weinstock I am sure you have received so many condolences but I just want you to know how sorry I am about your son's passing. None of us know your pain. I have 4 sons and cannot imagine what you are going thru. You are the most kind person and that is what makes you a fantastic physician. Take care and know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I met Eli last year while I was participating in a gap year program at AU. He quickly became an integral member of my social group and brought such witty, enthusiastic energy. Our time together came to a very abrupt end when covid sent us all home but the two months that I got the chance to know him were so impactful. I send my deepest condolences to his family and close friends. Eli will live on in the memory of so so many people as he will in mine.

Beth and Michael, my heart is shattered. Beautiful, soulful, funny Elias. I remember the night on your porch when you shared your pregnancy. That shock of black hair and those poetic eyes. Swimming, barefoot, inquisitive, engaging. Busy! Exploring the world, finding his sea legs, growing into a boy then a young man. He was cherished every day of his life- seen, nurtured and adored; the footprint he left so large for one here so briefly. I believe his light will shine for eternity, illuminating the path forward for all of you. Sending you so very much love, my friends, and solace in knowing his was a life joyfully lived.

I have only known Eli since he moved into Rittenhouse in Delaware for a semester as my roommate. Sometimes people you've only known a short amount of time have a much more profound impact on your life than others you've known a long time, and I believe that circumstance applies in this case. Eli was a true friend. Everyone in our apartment considered him a true friend, not just some acquaintance or roommate, but a true and genuine friend. We shared memories that none of us would forget; even simple things like making jokes, playing poker, listening to music, and having laughs about nonsense is what made our times meaningful, and I speak on behalf of everyone here at Delaware who shared those same memories. Eli's presence brought smiles to everyone in the room and he basically made friends with everyone he spoke to. I want to express my condolences to Eli's family and to make known that Eli and the memories of him will not be forgotten by his friends and that we will continue to celebrate the life he shared with us.
