Elizabeth Piccininni Obituary

Piccininni Elizabeth "Liz" (DeMauro) Piccininni, age 85, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016. Born in the Bronx, New York on June 19, 1930, Liz married Joseph Piccininni in 1954. They made a life together in New York that included travel, summers on the island, welcoming four cherished children, and Liz's very active involvement in the Mother of Twins Club. Liz and Joe moved to Ohio in 1983 with a great number of Joe's fellow AEP employees, living in Worthington Hills and later in Powell. Liz kept her old friends close and made many new friends including those at the Worthington Hills Women's Club, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Amici D'Oro and The Abruzzi Club. Liz was an avid reader and football fan, always rooting for the Buckeyes and the Jets. Liz was preceded in death by her parents John and Josephine DeMauro, her beloved brother Dominick DeMauro and her brother-in-law Rocco. She is survived by her devoted husband, Joe, of sixty-one years; children, Maria (Paul) Ross, Michael, John (Lori), and Patrick (Anita); grandchildren, Callum Ross, Angelina and Anthony, and Michael and Joseph; sisters-in-law, Cathy DeMauro and Judy Buccolo; nieces and nephews, god sons and god daughters, and many dear friends. Her family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Avenue, Columbus. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street (Italian Village). Rev. Fr. Anthony P. Lonzo, Presider. Entombment to follow, Resurrection Cemetery. The family appreciates the compassionate care provided by the staff at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Condolences may be sent via www.johnquint.com.
