Elwood McGonigle Obituary

McGONIGLE Elwood F. McGonigle. Loving husband, father and mentor, Elwood F. "Woody" McGonigle, age 71, began his new life on Tuesday, March 8, 2005. Woody worked for Green Lawn Cemetery for 16 years where he was one of the top sales counselors. He also worked for Sears at Eastland and was the top salesman in the nation for 4 years in a row. Woody was a member of SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church and West Jefferson American Legion Post #0201. Proud combat Veteran of the Korean War. He was dedicated to God, his wife, family and his country. Preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Louise McGonigle. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Peggy; children, Gayla (Jim) Rogers, Karen (Doug) Brandel, Todd (Clara) McGonigle, Keith (Lynne) McGonigle and Brad (Toni) McGonigle, and Teri (Rob) Dubinsky; grandchildren, Jami, Jennifer, Lindsay, Jessica, Jackson, Kelly, Adam, Aaron, Jace, Courtney, Taylor, Mallory, Madison, Lainey, Jordan and Ryan; 5 sisters and a brother; mother-in-law, Billie Stimmel; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 at SS. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 95 W. Main St., West Jefferson, OH. Fr. Kevin Lutz celebrant. Entombment Green Lawn Mausoleum. To email condolences visit www.schoedinger.com.

the best dad you could ever have!!!!thanks to all who sent condolences..perhaps you can share a story.about dad.i never realized how great a man he was until i heard countless stories from people. how great a mentor he was to others, and a young cousin mentioning to me ...that he would'nt miss his funeral.....for the world. T hanks to all....you'll never know how much that meant....if only dad knew.God bless you all
