Feliciano Giammarco Obituary

GIAMMARCO Feliciano Giammarco, at the age of 92, surrounded by his family suddenly left this earth to be with our Lord. Born in Introdacqua, Italy to Pasquale and Laura Giammarco. He is survived by his loving wife, Dilia of 60 years; daughter, Nina (Roger) Pietrzyk; son, Pasquale Giammarco; daughter, Laura (Michael) Cua; grandchildren, Bryan (Evie), Lauren, and Denise Pietrzyk, Angelo, Mario, Marcella, and Santino Cua; sisters, Rita Giammarco and Panfilia Famulare; and many nieces and nephews in Italy and the U.S. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and attended the University of Vermont. He retired from General Motors after 26 years of service. He was an avid teacher and promoter of the Italian culture. He enjoyed his involvement in the Italian fraternal organizations in which he held many offices including president of the Abruzzi Club, the Societa' Fratellanza d' Introdacquese and he belonged to The Sons Of Italy. For 29 years he volunteered at the Italian Festival at his parish church St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church. He was known as "il Professore" to his family and friends for passing on the Italian traditions of making wine, homemade sausages, and prosciutto. He treasured spending the past 31 winters in Florida with his wife and "Florida family". His zest for life and longevity has touched each of us. Friends may call SUNDAY, September 20, 2009 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, from 4-8 p.m. with the Abruzzi Club service at 7 p.m., SFI service at 7:15 p.m. and Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. on MONDAY, September 21, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street, Rev. Dilia..Mary and I were so surprised to find out about Felix's passing. He will be missed by all those who's lives he touched. We have been so happy and proud to have you two as our Florida neighbors. I will miss the conversations with him and seeing him riding his bike in the park. His stories fascinated me and we are all better people for having known him. He truley made the world he touched a better place. May God bless you and your family.....with love....Ron and Mary Haywood.
