Gary Mansell Obituary

MANSELL Gary Lee Mansell, age 58, of Delaware died suddenly at home from a heart attack on Tuesday, July 17, 2007. He was born on August 13, 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona to the late Ellis L. and Mary Alice (Hess) Mansell. A graduate of Austintown Fitch High School in 1966. He completed his master's degree in accounting from Youngstown State University. Gary and his family moved to Delaware in 1980 from the Youngstown area. A self employed public accountant, he owned and operated Mansell Consulting Services. Gary was one of the few to earn the rank of Eagle Scout at the young age of 13, of which he was most proud. His life centered on Scouting. He was the former Scoutmaster of Troop 101 in Warren, and former Scoutmaster and current assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 560. He was a member of St. John Neumann Church in Sunbury, Public Accountant Society of Ohio, and the Phoenix Boys Choir. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, music, playing his guitar, camping, canoeing, and traveling out West. With a passion for animals, he was a protector of wildlife and his family. Built like a bear, he was a wonderful provider, goodhearted, and will be remembered for his caring ways. Survived by his loving wife of 33 years Marilyn (Mazzocca); daughter, Sara Mansell; sisters, Janice (Ken) Fugitt of Warren, Joyce (Grey, Sr.) Glover of Virginia Beach, VA; nieces and nephews, Roger (Kourtney) Beck, Meredith (Joel) Hemenway, Grey A. Glover, Jr., Brian Glover, Gregory Brinsko, Amy (Brian) Zone. Friends may call Saturday 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the DeVORE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury, Ohio. A memorial mass will follow Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the outdoor pavilion of St. John Neumann Church, 9633 E. SR 37, Sunbury Rev. James Black, Celebrant, inurnment will follow in Cheshire Cemetery.
