Gregory Jay Collier, age 59, of Plain City, passed away May 5, 2021. Born January 14, 1962 in Marysville, Ohio. Graduate of Jonathan Alder High School. Greg was a third-generation firefighter serving Plain City, Jerome, and Norwich Township. Retired Battalion Chief from Norwich Township in 2013. He proudly served as the first fire chief for Jerome Township. Greg had a passion as a public servant and a desire to teach new generations that were setting foot into the fire service. Greg was devoted to his family. He enjoyed baseball, golf and fishing with his boys and watching them grow up to become 4th generation firefighters. He enjoyed much of his retired time traveling with Tammi and many special friends. He graciously carried on his grandfather's tradition of Santa Clause for friends and family creating special holiday memories. He was an active member of Dublin Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Greg frequently volunteered his time wherever he was needed. He was always on call, no job too big or too small. He left a mark in so many people's lives and will be dearly missed. Greg was preceded in death by his mother Phyllis (Skaggs) Collier and brother Jeffrey L. Collier. He is survived by his loving wife, Tammi (McGuire) Collier; and sons, Trevor (Taylor) Collier, Adam (Leslee) Collier; his precious grandson, Boone Collier; father, Denzil Collier; sisters-in-law, Missy Collier, Terri (Gary) Spring and Tonia (Kirk) Lindsey; nephews, Zach Spring, Tyler Collier, Hunter (Andrea) Collier, Brayden Collier and Louis Wemyss; nieces, Kylie Spring and Lexis Wemyss; along with several loving cousins and special friends. The family will receive friends 5-8PM Sunday, May 9, 2021 and 11AM-1PM Monday, May 10, 2021 with funeral services to be held immediately following at 1PM at Dublin Baptist Church, 7195 Coffman Road, Dublin, Ohio.
