Dear George and Family,
We were shocked and saddened by the news of Irene's death. Irene was my first "boss" at Capital in the summer of '78. I had planned to work just for the summer and it was such a great experience that I was happy when I was hired as a fulltime secretary in Health and Physical Education Dept. and Athletics Office. I have Irene to thank for giving me that chance. She has always been a good and very cheerful friend. Even though we rarely saw each other over the last few years, she was one of those people whom I felt comfortable calling "friend." May you find peace in knowing that she is truly happy and well in the arms of the Lord. You all are in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Marilyn and Carl Noll

George and family,
Cheryl and I were sorry to hear of Irene's passing. She was a special lady, full of passion for life and with a gift for living life on her terms. What a wonderful gift she was to all who met her. We particularly remember her letting us stay at her cabin in the Hocking Hills for a weekend. That cabin reminds me a lot of Irene: simple, weathered, beautiful, and sheltered in a valley of God's love.

Dear George and Family, My deepest sympathy goes out to you. I was very sad to learn about Irene's death. I remember Irene as someone who was passionate about the health and wellbeing of students. She and I (and others) worked closely to develop the Lifetime Health course. Even to this day, I think of her when I walk by "her" corner office in Troutman Hall. May memories of love and joy sustain you through this difficult time. Laurel Talabere

Dear George,
I am deeply saddened by the death of Irene, your loving partner. I will always remember her as a well respected faculty colleague who devoted her life to the education and health of our Capital students. She memtored many of us in our teaching and in the role we played in faculty governance. She was always clear about her own values and lived her life on a daily basis demonstrating those values. My prayers for God's comfort to you and your family in her loss.

George,
I am so sorry for your loss. Irene was a very optimistic and energetic person. When I was a student at Capital she was my teacher for several classes and I always admired her positive approach and upbeat attitude. Then when I began teaching at Capital, there she was and she looked and acted as if she hadn't aged a bit! What a great lady. Kathy Green
