Ivy Featherstone Obituary

Featherstone Ivy (Sooner) Featherstone, age 77, passed away at Kobacker House on Sunday, July 7, 2013. As a retired tenured teacher for the Columbus Public Schools, author, artist, inventor, actor, auxiliary policeman and a lover of his trees, he touched the lives of anyone that had the privilege of meeting him. Predeceased by parents Ivey Featherstone and Gladys Duncan Featherstone Barnette, sister Shirley Featherstone Shaw brother Boyd Featherstone. Survived by wife, Rose Featherstone; sons, Stacey Featherstone, Dennis Featherstone (Taniel), David Featherstone (Tonya); daughters, Debrah (Earl) Hughes, Delia (Shawn) Hoch; grandchildren, Dominique Featherstone, Yasming Featherstone, Eva Featherstone, Mercadez Featherstone, Devvon Hughes, Derrion Hughes, Donnivon Hughes, Michael Hoch, London Hoch; three great grandchildren; sisters, Enid Jay and Joyce (James) Garner; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and dearest friend, Charles E. Tennant. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Kobacker House at 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43214.

Ivy Featherstone was a very close friend of mine for nearly forty-five years. He was a great author and "thinker" who encouraged me to write my first book. Years from now the world will recognize this "pure" genius.

To the Family, Sorry for your loss, Cumberland Ridge on the corner of Pine Valley and Hudson will not be the same. I can recall seeing Mr. Featherstone working in his yard on many occasion or protesting about the tree that was cut. The Shepherd Family on Blue Ridge extend sympathy to You.
