Jackie Jahn Obituary

Jahn Jackie S. Jahn, 70 from Grove City, left this world to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 20 in the afternoon while with her family and in the care of Serenity House in Grove City after an almost 8 month fight against brain cancer. Born October 11, 1945 in Ravenswood, WV to Alice Lucille Weimer (Smith) and Francis Joseph Jones. She was married to Jim (James) R. Jahn for 41 years, together for 44 years and was a homemaker on their farm just south of GC. Jackie is survived by her three children, Tim (Carrie) Koethke, Micki (Eric)Young and Jason (Kira) Jahn; eight grandchildren; sisters, Charlotte Thomas and Lois Sutphin; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Max and Raven. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and two sisters Alice Faye and Connie Sue Jones. Jackie spent countless hours enjoying her grandchildren, volunteering with the GC band and other school events for many years, and mowing the grass whenever possible. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of GC and before that at the Grove City Church of Christ. An avid Elvis Presley fan, Jackie was also on her high school homecoming court, enjoyed dancing, the color red, and the spring peonies in her yard. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway where funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. and visitation starting at 9 a.m. with Pastor Dave Berna officiating. Interment will be at Concord Cemetery. Memorial flowers can be provided to the home, or memorial donations are welcome for Serenity House, 1939 Mallow Dr. Grove City, OH 43123. We are so sorry for your family's loss! She definitely was a special lady! She will be missed by many! We too remember the Bon fires and hayrides we had at her house! They were so much fun enjoyed with GCHS choir! Those are great memories!

I worked with Jackie at the Grove City office of BancOhio. She was the joy of the office and the clients adored her. My prayers for her family.

I was in high school with Jackie's son, Jason. And, in high school, you never left a gathering at the Jahn house without smiling. She was always the most welcoming, friendly person at those gatherings, and it really made such an impact on so many lives during those high school years, when everyone just wants to belong to something. For my siblings and me, that was choir and band at GCHS, and those times at the Jahn house are some of our most fond memories. From the bonfires and hayrides to playing pool in the basement, we are forever grateful to know the wonderful Jahn family. Such great times, all thanks to the amazing Jackie Jahn. Such a beautiful life she lived that touched so many people tremendously. Sending love to you and your entire family.
