James Croft Obituary

Croft James L. Croft, age 79, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 16th, 2015 at LifeCare Hospice, Wooster, Ohio. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the ALEXANDER FUNERAL HOME, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Mark Hochstetler officiating. Burial will be at Killbuck Cemetery, Killbuck, Ohio. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice 1900 Akron Road Wooster, OH 44691. He was born January 31st, 1936 and Killbuck, Ohio and was the son of Francis and Hazel (Carpenter) Croft. On January 2nd, 1960 he married Shirley L. Miller and she survives. He graduated from Killbuck High School and following graduation he served 2 years in Germany as an Engineer in the United States Army. Jim was retired from the Columbia Gas Corporation after working for them for 37 years. He was a member or the Killbuck VFW and the Millersburg American Legion. He also was a member for the Killbuck First Church of Christ. Jim loved the outdoors and until his health failed, he enjoyed chopping wood, mowing and any kind of outdoor work. He lived at Lake Buckhorn for 22 years and enjoyed boating, fishing and being with his friends and family. Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Lisa (Kevin) Alverson of Millersburg, OH, Teri (Frank) Pettibone of Coshocton, OH and James F. (Michelle) Croft of Grandview Heights, OH; six grandchildren, Adrianne Edmunds, Zac (Kailie) Wengerd, Matthew Croft, Mia Croft, Macy Croft, and Ethan Alverson; three great grandchildren, Zoey, Khloey and Kendyll Wengerd; a sister, Maxine Allison of Heath, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dean Croft and a sister Joann Staser.
