James Hay Obituary

Hay James Franklin Hay, age 90, passed away at his home on November 21, 2013. Born September 2, 1923 in Blaine, Kentucky. Moved to Columbus area at the age of 20. James lived in the Hilliard area for the past 56 years. Retired 1986 from the Marble Cliff Quarry and retired in 1986 after working 41 years. James passion after retirement was restoring old cars, 2 of which are 1956 Ford and 1946 Plymouth. Preceded in death by parents Oscar and Audie (Collier) Hay, brothers Proctor and Connard, sister Gretta (Harrington) and grandson Larry Steven Hay, step grandson Buzzy Vaughn, niece Judy May and nephew Jimmy Harrington. Survived by loving wife of 65 years, Jean (Skaggs) Hay; children, Larry (DiAnne), Barbara Hall (Mike), Carol Vaughn (Kenny) and Jeff (Pam); four grandsons; four granddaughters; two step granddaughters; 14 great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Family will receive friends 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026, where funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday.
