Jim was my cousin and friend. His smile was my favorite thing about him. When he smiled at you, you could feel genuine love. I believe it was the love of Christ that he carried in his heart and spirit.Years ago I planted a garden in my back yard for he and I to share. Jim didn't get strong enough to work in that garden but I did year after year. The garden is still in my back yard and the vegetables are growing. As i work in the garden i will think of my cousin Jim and his smile, that alone will get me through the hot summer days of tending to the garden i'll always refer to as Jimmy's Garden. Lot's of love and prayers to Kathy, Joe, Jimmy, Rowena and the precious little boys Jim loved so much.

Jim and my husband, Jack VanHorn, played ball together at GCHS. Jim visited Jack several times during his fight with cancer in 1998. I will always remember him for that and for his courage during his battle. I am so sorry he lost it. My sympathies to all of you.

Dearest jimmy,
In our beautiful garden, where the flowers of kinship grow, kissed by the golden sunshine and the gentlest winds that blow. In that pleasant garden, wet with the morning dew, God chose a lovely blossom and found that it was you. You touched many hearts and will live on forever with all of us who love you.

Kathy, Jim and Joe, I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I met and worked with Jim when I started at OBES just before Jimmy was born. I remember spending time with Jim at the office and listening to him talk to me about his family. He loved his family unconditionally.
We worked closely together with another co-worker and referred to ourselves as “Curley, Larry and Moe”. So many fond memories…may he rest in peace.
My heart and prayers go out to all of the family at this difficult time. Jim will always hold a place in my heart.
Love and blessings to all.
