Janice Ward Obituary

WARD Janice B. Ward, age 78, of Groveport, died Thursday May 27, 2010 at AlterCare of Canal Winchester after a short illness. Born Nov. 3, 1931 in Taylorsville, Ohio to the late Carlos L. and Ruth L. (Dilley) Bailey, she was a graduate of Columbus South High School, and received her BSEd from Ohio University in 1953. She was a retired kindergarten and elementary school teacher with Whitehall Schools. Survived by her daughter, Linda (Mark) Mitchell; granddaughter, Carla (Tom) Rieman; great-grandsons, Tristan and Wyatt Rieman, all of Canal Winchester; sister, Vera (Ken) Hilliard, Florida; "adopted daughter", Michelle (Ian) Bourdo; cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband John F. Ward in 2000. Friends may visit 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, where a memorial service will follow at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Craig Arnold, officiating. Interment will be later at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
