Jean Eleanore Jednak

Jednak (nee Familton) Jean Eleanore Jednak, age 94, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Jean was born and raised in Columbus and enjoyed the past 50 years living in Upper Arlington and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Eddy Jednak, sons Robert "Tex" and William "Buck" Jednak, parents Hugh and Martha Familton, and sister Janet Nolte. Jean graduated from West High School and was a member of Ann Simpson Davis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Worthington Chapter #287 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a generous, loving and strong woman who was the true matriarch of her family. Jean was an integral part of Eddy's success in starting and running the family business, Jednak Floral Co. She enjoyed dancing and socializing at Valley Dale, as well as throwing historic OSU Football parties with Eddy. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing and crafts, as well as spending time at the ocean walking on the beach. She will be greatly missed by her loving daughter, Laurie (Carl, III) Bloecher; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jaclyn, Jamie, Carl IV "Harley", and Hunter; several great grandchildren; nephews, Bruce (Ruth) Marhefka, Thomas "T.J." (Denise) Jedinak, Gary (Debby) Jedinak; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
