Jeffrey Rader Obituary

Rader Jeffrey L. Rader, age 59, of Powell, OH, died unexpectedly Thursday, September 4, 2014. Born September 12, 1954 to the late Ralph C. Rader and Jeanne (Cover) Rader, he was a 1972 graduate of Northland High School, Columbus, OH and the owner of Rader Car Company on Schrock Road in Columbus, OH. Those left to celebrate his life and cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Nancy, of 37 years; son, John Rader (Lisa) of Henderson, NV; daughter, Lisa Beck of Powell, OH; grandchildren, Brooke, John, McKenzie, Calvin, Madison, Caroline, Carter; and great-grandson, Deshawn; brothers, Ralph T. Rader (Rebecca) and Richard O. Rader (companion, Kathy); many cousins, nieces and nephews, and waaaayyyyyyy too many friends to mention. Jeff was a former founder of the Ohio Independent Automobile Dealers Association (OIADA) and a Board Member for many years. He also was a former Board Member of the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association (NIADA), and a 32nd degree Mason with Sunrise Lodge No. 783 of Gahanna, OH. And as many of you know, he was voted "best dressed" in his senior class of high school! Family will receive friends at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy Street Powell, OH, on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Joel Baer officiating. Jeff would like to be remembered for being a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend; and, for having the best OSU tailgates ever! My deepest sympathy to Nancy and family, and to Rick and family - I have been trying to figure when the last time I had seen Jeff and I came up with that it had to be the early 1990's, but nonetheless, as everyone in these remembrances have said....the great smile and the fun loving guy is who I've always remembered and always will. It was difficult to hear of Jeff's sudden passing. My condolences to his wife, children, and loved ones. I went to Northland High School and remember Jeff as a nice young man who consistently smiled, if he wasn't out right laughing. He always appeared to be in on "the joke", whatever "the joke" was. I know how much a personality that large and bright will be missed. Thank God for hope and the promise of eternal families. I'm absolutely shocked that Jeff has passed, we saw each other every week at the local auctions, and he was without a doubt one of the nicest, friendliest, honest car dealers I have ever known. I've known Jeff over 30 years and he always had that trademark smile on his face, he really was a good guy! It seems such a shame all of the good guys go first, we need more Jeff Rader's in our business. Jeff was one of those people who always made you feel special, no matter how long it had been since you last had seen him. Always a part of our Northland class reunions, he was never without a smile on his face, a funny story to share about family or friends, and always with his gift of friendship.
Sending deepest condolences to Nancy, Terri, Lisa and all of his family, and to all of those who were lucky enough to be touched by his life.
