Joan Drummond Obituary

DRUMMOND Joan C. (Hartung) Drummond. Born May 6, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio, and passed away August 1, 2011 in Edgewater, Florida. Joan was a 1948 graduate of West High School. Following high school, she went on to work for the Columbus Board of Education. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who always had time and energy for her family and friends. She loved cooking, fishing, music, flowers, birds (especially hummingbirds) and her family pets. She also had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Preceded in death by her parents Leon and Ruth Hartung, brothers Bob and Jack Hartung, and her beloved dog Chico. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Dennis Drummond; sons, Mark, Matthew and Patrick Drummond; daughters-in-law, Donna Drummond and Kathy Milburn; grandchildren, Kyle, Sam, Shelby, Zane and Ethan Drummond; and sister-in-law, Christine Hartung. She also had many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her honor to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® or Hospice of Volusia/Flagler (HOVF) in care of: SEVCC, 3800 Woodbriar, Port Orange, FL 32129. A memorial and prayer service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011, where friends and family may gather from 1-2:30 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204.
