If I could Bring You Back Again
If I could bring you back again,
For one more hour or day,
I'd express all our unspoken love;
We’d have countless things to say.
If I could bring you back again,
I’d say I treasured you,
And that your presence in my life
Meant more than I ever knew.
If I could bring you back again,
To tell you what I should,
You’d know how much I miss you now,
And if I could, I would.
LOVE YOU MY DEAR FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.

My birthday is coming around soon and yours is too
It was always guarenteed to speak with you twice in June
But that's no longer anymore and I'm learning it's okay
That my only Papa has settled in a different place
No more pain, no suffering, no more worries
Because God chose to give you the glory
So for that, we'll be thankful and remain strong
Until we join you in our place at Home

To the Dulaney and Combs Family. It has only been a short while, but in our hearts in feels like forever. I pray that we all remember the good times and cherish all the great characteristics that we loved about such a wonderful man. He was loved by many, his gentle spirit is still present in our heart. God Bless the families. And remember to cherish one another like it is our last day.

Where does the time go? It is still hard to believe that is has been a year. I still can't get the images of that morning out my mind, the smallest things seem to set it off like a mini-movie stuck on replay. I know that everything that took place that day and all the days leading up to it were God's doing and no matter how hard I try I still as why? Why to such a good and caring person, someone you could always count on no matter what. I had a list of people that I wish would have taken your place, but that is why God is who he is and I'm just Lisa. Thank you so much for everything you did and are still doing in spirit. I miss our talks, the laughs, the card games and us trying to win the lotto and spending the money before we even had the winning numbers.
Leave it up to Jaida we would come out to "Heaven" (cemetery) everyday. She loves putting flowers out for you and everyone else. We all miss you greatly and we will all be together again soon.
Love you Always.

Helen, I really never got to know Joe, but I do know how highly my mother and father (James & Novella Woods) felt about both of you. Having read the Guest Book I can see that everyone loved him and he surely loved you. I can't imagine what it must be like having him gone for a year. Love does sustain us. Continue to let the love that surrounds you be your strength. It must feel wonderful reading all of the great loving things that people are saying about Joe and the apparent love affair you two had.
Love,
GERRY

Hi Helen:
It seems like we have talked about Joe a lot this past year. (Nothing but good of course). We know how much you truly miss and loved him but God loved him to. You will never stop missing him but you have managed to keep striving. God is listening and will also continue to bless and keep you and your family.
Call us anytime if you want to talk, laugh, cry, shout, scream or whatever. Love you much.

I didn't have the opportunity to be around Joe for a long time, as some of our other family members. However, when I first met him I felt like I hadn't missed his love for his family and I was honored to be part of his love and joy. How can you attest to someone who was so great and wonderful whenever you saw him. Helen you and Joe as a couple you both made me believe there is hope in eternal love, joy, and companionship. True love is loving someone with your entire spirit, whether it be here on earth or in the afterlife. Joe along with our other family memebers in heaven are our angels here on earth and they are there with us through our paths in this life even at our happiest and lowest moments. Just remember to call out to them and they will be there for you. So I am so proud to have Joe and our other Woods, Jones, and Dulaney family members watching over me. Helen and family, keep your memories of Joe close to your hearts, as those memories will keep your spirits uplifted and will sustain you.

God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.
You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children, you're always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home.
We miss and will always love you Uncle Joe.

WELL APRIL 26, 2008 WILL BE A YEAR SINCE YOU LEFT ME HERE, NO FISHING, NO TRAVEL WITH YOU HAS BEEN BORING. I DID GO TO GRANNY'S 86TH BIRTHDAY, BUT IT JUST WASN'T THE SAME WITHOUT YOU. SHE IS GREAT AND DOING AS WELL AS SHE WANTS US TO BELIEVE. WE WENT TO CHURCH TOGETHER. THE SONG "I WON'T COMPLAIN" IS GRANNY. I've had some good days, I've had some hills to climb, I've had some weary days and some sleepless nights, but when I look around and I think things over, all of my good days outweigh my bad days..AND I WON'T COMPLAIN. these are what I see in Granny and Myself. God has taken care of me as you said He would and you would be my angel to lead the way. When I can't talk to anyone I talk to you and God, look at your pictures ans smile and do what I have to do and feel great the rest of the day. So until we meet, I'm Not GOING TO COMPLAIN. MY GOOD DAYS AND PRECIOUS MEMORIES OUTWEIGH THE BAD.
LOVE

IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR THAT YOU LEFT MY HEART BROKEN INTO A MILLION PIECES. YOU TOLD ME THAT YOU WOULD CONTINUE TO TAKE CARE OF ME. YOU HAVE BEEN A GUARDIAN ANGEL TO THE HIGHEST MAGNITUDE.
EVERYTHING WE TALKED ABOUT THE DAY BEFORE YOU LEFT ME HAS COME SO TRUE...AS WE STOOD ON THE BANKS OF JORDAN THAT EVENING, WE LAUGHED, I TRIED TO CRY AND YOU JUST WOULDN'T HAVE IT..DRY YOUR EYES..LET'S HAVE A GOOD TIME THIS EVENING...WE DID.
THE NEXT MORNING YOU HAD TO TELL ME: I'M TIRED,I MUST GO,I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE. PROMISE ME ONE THING: PLEASE COME OF THE ROAD. I DID,YOU SAID HAVE PATIENCE, SIT DOWN AND WAIT, EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT. ONCE AGAIN YOU NEVER HAVE LIED TO ME,YOU ARE STILL TAKING CARE OF ME. JAN 12, 2008 WOULD HAVE BEEN OUR 23RD ANNIVERSARY. IT WAS,BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT HERE IN BODY, BUT I KNOW YOUR SPIRIT IS WITH ME EVERY DAY. I SMILE AGAIN WHEN I THINK OF YOU, I LOOK AT THE PICTURES OF YOU AND YOUR SMILING AT ME. WE COULD DO THAT ACROSS ANY ROOM OR YARD AND FELT SO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER..I STILL FEEL IT, BECAUSE I KNOW YOU WATCH & TAKE CARE OF ME EVERYDAY WITH GOD'S HELP. I AM HAPPY..I'M DOING SOMETHING THAT I TOLD YOU I WOULD DO, IF I COULD MANAGE AND THAT WOULD BE TO CONTINUE TO ENJOY AND LOVE YOUR MOTHER, SINCE SHE HAS BEEN LIKE A MOTHER ME FOR ALL THESE YEARS, I'M GOING TO ALABAMA ONE MORE TIME, GOING TO FLY LIKE YOU TOLD ME (THIS TIME ANYWAY) YOU KNOW I'M A DRIVER!!! UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN. LOVING YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MY NUMBER ONE JOB. THANK YOU FOR LOVING ME "WORM".
ALWAYS,
