In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

When i found out Joel had passed I flashed back to High School great memories that I had not thought about in a long time and Joel was a big part of those great times. I had not seen him in years and I was happy to know things had been good for Joel, God only takes the good ones young and now he has a Great One.....Veronica

I still remember trying to steal the bell from the roof of Taco Bell just to be able to attend the parties at your apartment. You are the coolest "Big Man". Peace -Cornell Lewis

"BIG JO"...Without question, when I think of my years playing football at South High, you are front and center BIG DADDY. I'll never forget the fun times you created on and off the field. Life for you as I remembered it was full of honest friendships and enough good times to last all that you have touched FOREVER. Your energy has moved to a better place. And knowing you, there up there laughing just as hard as we were when you were here.
Take care buddy...Bulldog 4life!

Now who could forget “The Bear”, the gentle giant. As we all know, people come and go in our lives and then there are those that leave a permanent mark within our heart like you did with me. When I heard you have passed, my heart sunk and all I could think of is how I wish I could hug you one more time and see that wonderful smile. As I think you, the fun, the laughs, and all the GREAT times you, the “gang” and me shared together…we never really say good-bye. The memories continue to live on within our souls. The days we all shared together are priceless. I never forgot our talks, your advice, and words of encouragement. You were a special friend who I have missed greatly in my adult life, but one who I have held VERY dear to my heart and ALWAYS will!
All my love,
Sonie
