BROOKS John Brooks, age 69, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at OSU Medical Center. Member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and transportation committee. Retired from OSU Medical Center. Predeceased by parents Harrison and Amanda Crankfield Brooks. Survived by loving wife of 41 years, Thelma H. Brooks; son, Gerald M. Brooks; daughters, Lenora (John) Davis, Monica L. Brooks; brothers, Bishop Thomas (Brenda) Brooks, Rev. Robert (Terri) Brooks; sisters, Mary Pyles, Sarah (William) Patrick, Louella (Wilton) Jackson; sisters-in-law, Johnnie Heard, Sarah (Rev. Lawrence) Twiggs, Gwendolyn Arnold; brother-in-law, Samuel (Carlton) Heard; 2 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Homegoing Celebration 10 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2188 Woodward Ave. Rev. Odell Waller, officiating. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment Glen Rest Estates. Arrangements by J MARTIN SMITH MORTUARY. 1173 E. Hudson St.. 447-9383.
