John Kemper Obituary

KEMPER John Wesley Kemper, 90, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born in New Straitsville on July 10, 1932 a son of the late Wesley and Edna (Sargent) Kemper. He was a member of Mills Memorial Church and a member of the Baltimore Masonic Lodge #475, F.&A.M. John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Fairy A. Kemper of Lancaster; two granddaughters, Rachel Hopmoen of Dublin and Juliana Kemper of Columbus; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons John R. and Paul A. Kemper, daughter Kathryn I. Kemper and a sister Mae (Kemper) Owen. Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home with Reverend Rita Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mills Memorial Church in John's memory.

Dear Aunt Fairy,
My thoughts of Uncle John are all sweet ones. What I loved most about him though was how he loved you. 65 years and he was still smitten! I think of the poem he wrote of you marrying a poor man, but how rich he was because of your love. I am thankful for the assurance of John being in heaven, and though I know you will miss him desperately, I know God will hold you in the palm of His hand. I love you and am praying for you.
