Joyce Moore Obituary

Joyce Ann Moore, born August 25, 1949 in Columbus Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents the late Ruby Nell (Johnson) Boyd, and Wilbur Ware Sr., her Grandfather Humphrey Johnson, Grandmother Rosa Johnson, Brother Rodney Ware, Grandson Jeron Smith and two great-grandsons King and Yasir Ware. Joyce attended Columbus East High School. She was an avid reader that enjoyed reading Harlequin Romance Novels. She also loved going to the Drive-In movies, dancing and entertaining. Joyce loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “Nana”. There was nothing that she wouldn’t do for her loved ones. The eldest of seven, her house was often the place for family gatherings. Joyce enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She gained the most joy in the presence of family. She took pride in being a homemaker and raising her children. As her children were entering Middle School, Joyce sought employment outside of the home. She was employed by the State of Ohio for almost two decades prior to experiencing several injuries that rendered her disabled. In 2001, after experiencing two hip replacements and a knee replacement, Joyce moved to Dayton, Ohio for rehabilitation to learn to walk again. In eight months, she regained the ability to walk and was able to live independently for the next ten years. In 2011, Joyce was officially diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. This devastatingly disruptive and destructive disease affected her muscular and nervous system to the extent that she was bedridden for the next four years. At 5:40 a.m., July 20, 2015, Joyce left this cruel world to sit on the right hand of her Father. Joyce was prepared for her transition. Joyce is survived by her Step-Father Cloves Boyd; her two daughters, Kimberly (Jerry) Henderson and Karla Ware; Son, Keith Moore; grandchildren: Timarah Bass, DaVonte Bass, Durell Ware, Devon Ware, Keara Ware, Brittanie Ware, Janelle Henderson and Tamika Plummer; seven great-grandchildren, two brothers: Michael L. Ware and Wilbur Ware Jr., and four sisters Bonnie R. (Boyd) Pimento, Deborah L. Boyd, Terri D. Boyd and Detra D. Boyd; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Joyce was a good person, who was very proud, honest and real. She believed in hard work, pulling your own load and assisting others when needed in pulling theirs. She loved her children and grandchildren with her hold heart. I will truly miss the conversations that I had with my cousin and will hold on to the loving memories. My deepest condolences to Kim, Karla, Keith, and to my cousins ... Bonnie, Debbie, Terri, Billy and Michael... please cling to one another in love hold on to it...
