It has now been nearly two months since our Katie has passed. I wonder what she would have been doing this New Years Eve? I am contantly reminded of the loss, but I am also reminded of the happiness. It has, in effect, been such a joy to be part of her life.

Dear johnson family,
Whenever I had a bad day, Kate's smile fixed everything. Along with her great margaritas. I will miss the beautiful person she was inside and out, but hope she is making everyone in heaven great drinks. I will truly miss her laugh, her latest hair styles and the her voice. Dear Johnson Family-
Kate always knew how to make me laugh and how to make me the best french fries. I will miss our long conversations about Halloween costumes, tattoos and other things I never could talk to anyone about. But Kate always got it.

I will never forget the friendship I had with Kate, she was the most gorgeous, creative, talented and most loving person I have ever met. She and I have had so many amazing memories together and I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for her. She could make me smile even on the worst of days. She taught me how to be independent, and caring, and she will always be the best memory of my middle and high school years as my best friend. Dear Johnson Family,
We are heartbroken to hear of the loss of Kate. She was part of the heart and soul of TPC, and a cherished part of our visits there. We saw her several times a week over the course of her three years at TPC, and have wonderful memories of her warm smile and loving manner. She helped to make the club a community, and added so much warmth, fun, and pride to the cafe. Please know that she was dearly loved here by all, and had close friends among many families with kids of all ages.

We are so sorry for your loss. Kate was such a special and integral part of our community. Things will never be the same without her presence in our club, in our homes, and in our lives. She was really part of a big family at the TPC. She was with us during our holidays, birthdays, and just ordinary days, and she always took such good care of all of us. She had an amazing way with children, and they really loved and admired her. We will miss her terribly.

Katie Marie Johnson was born to a loving family. Her mother and father, Trudy and Byron, were there to support her throughout her life. Her brother and sister adored her. She was born ten years to the day ahead of my only child. From the very beginning, Katie was beautiful. As time went on, we also saw her braveness and courage; her desire to live life on her own terms; perhaps owing in no small part to her maternal grandfather, Dr. Murray Leatherdale. Katie and I kept an ongoing correspondence over the years. Her last words to me were, "I love you, Aunt Mandi" and I said, "I love you too, Katie."
Last night I looked at the stars above Lake Dalrymple and realised that that there was a new one up there, shining like a diamond. Katie as reminded us of how beautiful and precious life is. I have been honoured to have known her.
