Kathleen Fisher Obituary

Fisher Kathleen Connolly Fisher, 76, died at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor on October 27, 2015. Kathleen was born in Carrigallen, County Leitrim, Ireland on November 12, 1938. Her parents, the late James and Kathleen (Gray) Connolly, brought their family to Parkersburg, West Virginia in 1948 and to Columbus, Ohio in l950. A graduate of Rosary High School, St. Francis School of Nursing, and Case Western Reserve University, Kathleen worked as a registered nurse and social worker in Columbus. Her favorite job was with Catholic Social Services, where she managed the health care of infants placed in foster homes throughout the Diocese of Columbus. Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Albert Benjamin Fisher III; two sisters and two brothers, Sr. Clare Maureen Connolly, sssf (Peg), Maureen (Terry) Ladd, John (Karen) Connolly and Jim Connolly (Lana Treadwell); her brother-in-law, Gregory (Cynthia) Fisher; and many nieces and nephews, to whom she was very devoted. Her marriage to Albert was the focus and joy of her life. They shared a love of travel and gardening. Friends and family were always welcome to enjoy their home, the beauty of their back yard and pond and Kathleen's healing garden. They hosted several foreign exchange students over the years. Kathleen was active in community and political causes and a champion for holistic approaches to health. She was a member of Daughters of Erin, St. Thomas the Apostle Church Choir, Bexley Natural Market, BREAD Education Committee, Greenbrier Garden Club and a Bible study group. Whenever she saw a person in need she would offer assistance. Her husband and family are grateful to all who offered prayers and support as she faced cancer with hope and grace. Friends may call at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. Broad St., Friday 5-8 p.m. Prayer and sharing stories of Kathleen will begin at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m., St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2692 E. Fifth Avenue. We grew to know and love Kathleen and Albert through Worldwide Marriage Encounter (Eastside DSG). Their love for each other and for the Lord were a light to all. Albert, we lift you up in prayer and pray that you find peace in knowing Kathleen is with Jesus.
