Wolfson Kathryn Leh Wolfson of Gahanna passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 after a courageous, long battle against brain cancer. She was 52. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother Kathryn Woodworth and father Waldo Woodworth. Survived by her husband of 27 years, Paul Wolfson; daughters, Julia and Hannah; and siblings, Shelley, Jud and Bill Woodworth. Originally from Rochester, New York, Kathy attended the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor's degree of music in oboe performance. Her passion for music was translucent in her piano teaching. She was filled with joy when working with her students and was grateful to for their impact on her. Kathy was focused and dedicated to spending her life with her family and friends. She constantly placed others before herself and lived every moment to its fullest. Kathy's positive attitude was a significant blessing and we will remember her as a devoted mother, wife, sibling, sister and friend. She touched many lives with her presence and will continue to do so. May her memory always be cherished. A memorial service will take place Friday, November 7th at 10:30 a.m. located at Temple Israel, 5419 East Broad St., Columbus, OH 43213. Shiva service will be observed Saturday evening November 8th at 7:30 p.m. at the Wolfson home. Pablo & Girls, Kathy was just the most compassionate and nice person. Linda and I always enjoyed any time we got to spend with her. A genuine and lovely person...Love to you all. I was told once that time heals all wounds and makes the memories sweeter.

Both my daughters had the best piano teacher in Miss Kathy - always encouraging, kind and the most beautiful smile even when it was VERY obvious the previous lessons had not been practiced...Our prayers are with the family. Kathy's family and friends, I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I grew up in a house that shared a backyard with Kathy's family and I will always remember what a kind person she was. Her positive attitude and bravery through this whole ordeal has been an inspiration to all. My only regret is that we hadn't seen each other in over 30 years and only some recent events had kept us in touch, but I have still always considered her one of my oldest friends. She will be missed by many.
