I am a former study of Ms Mason. She taught me art in 1968 at Wedgewood Middle School. Of all my teachers I never forgot her. Her zeal and love of life infected me. Truly she must be missed by family! I look forward to seeing her in the resurrection here on earth after God's Kingdom comes.

Kim,
I am sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. I will always remember her back in the days when you were at Walnut Ridge H.S. and I would come over to see you and we would talk. Those were some special times that I will never forget...

Hi Kim this is Lydia, you & I went to Rick's and Walnut Ridge at the same time and i've often wondered how you're doing. I lost my mom in 2005 so I more than imagine what you're feeling. You're in my thoughts and prayers and know that we too shall pass and we'll all meet again...

Mrs. Mason was a friend of mother, Geneva White, and I took piano lessons with her daughter many years ago. I remember Mrs. Mason's elegance and wanted to be like her but knew she was one of a kind. Her presence will be missed but her legacy will live on forever.

Nothing can express my deepest sorrow for the loss of my dear friend. I will miss you Kay. To her family, weeping will endure for a moment, but with God......joy will come. Be blessed.

I was the secretary at Buckeye in the 90's when Ms. Mason was the Art teacher. She was such a gifted lady. She was a unique person.

Ah, Ah! No erasers allowed
Take that errant mark
And create something new
There are no erasers in life
And there are no erasers
in my art class!

With this simple rule Kay led her students to the threshold of their own creative genius.
Giving them not just lessons in art but lessons for life.

Our lives crisscrossed over the decades.
In the 1960’s our mothers worked at the Ohio Youth Commission
In the 1970’s we both sought spiritual insight and instruction from Dee
In the 1980’s we taught together at Buckeye Middle School
In the 1990’s we retired together
And in the new millennium we’ve played and prayed together.

With her passing we have all suffered a great loss.
My condolences to Kim, Kayrita and Jack.
