1934 - 2021
Lewis E. Mapes, 87 of Westerville, entered heaven on Monday, June 21 while being held by his beloved wife, Marilyn of almost 69 years. Lew and Marilyn have two children, Vicki Lou (Jeffrey) Woltz and Randy Lee (Rochelle) Mapes; grandchildren, Michael (Mindy) Woltz and Kimberly (Jerry) Cleaver; great grandchildren, Emmy, Lela and Max Woltz and Brendan and Ethan Cleaver; brother, Steven (Pam) Mapes; and sister, Ann (Mapes) Dobbins. Lew was a charter member of the W.M.A.A. (Westerville Model Aeronautics Assoc. and had built an Ultra lite airplane which his son Randy flew. He was also an avid fisherman. Lew retired from Ohio Bell after 30 years. Friends may call 10-10:30am Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Westerville Christian Church, 471 E. College Ave., Westerville, where services will be held at 10:30AM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Westerville Christian Church, St. Jude Hospital or Hospice of Central Ohio. Remembrances can be shared at www.HILLFUNERAL.com.
