M. Thimmes Obituary

THIMMES M. Marcella Thimmes, 93, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Crestview Nursing Home. She was born on June 29, 1919, daughter of the late Clement and Laura Snider Joos. Marcella was a member of Saint Bernadette Church and a retired public school employee. She is survived by sons, Jim Thimmes and Tim (Sandy) Thimmes; grandchildren, Jody (Dan) Boyden, Troy (Carrie) Thimmes, Tim Thimmes, Angel (Jared) Springer and Sarah Thimmes; nine great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Thimmes; sister-in-law, Jini Joos; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Marcella was preceded in death by her husband James F. Thimmes, son Chris Thimmes, great grandson Jude Christopher Boyden, sisters Rita Cupp and Betty Foreman; brother Louis Joos. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 12th at 10 a.m. at St. Bernadette Church with Fr. Thomas Kessler as Celebrant. Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 11th from 6-8 p.m. at the SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME where a vigil service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also visit from 9 - 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff at Carriage Court and Crestview for their compassionate care of Marcy and family.
