STROBEL Mrs. Margie Strobel, age 81, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2008, at her residence in Greenville. She was born December 13, l926, in Lewis Center, Ohio, daughter of the late Spencer and Ethel (Jackson) Ball. She graduated from Orange High School and worked for Columbus Mutual. In 1948, she met and married Lewis "Hank" Strobel Jr., of Gettysburg, Ohio and began life as an Air Force officer's wife. Over the next 20 years Margie traveled to all 50 states, living in many including Hawaii. In 1968, they retired in Worthington, Ohio where Margie had always dreamed of living. After her sons graduated from high school and college, she moved for a short time to Dublin, Ohio before settling in Greenville in 1992, where she developed many close friendships. Above all, she was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Colonel Lewis "Hank" Strobel, February 22, l995, brothers Infant William Ball, Spencer Ball Jr., Garnet Ball, Douglas Ball and Sherman Ball. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Stephen and Marcia Strobel of Ottawa Hills, Ohio and Dr. Michael and Carissa Strobel, Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Megan Strobel, Kristin Strobel, Matthew Strobel, Spencer Strobel, Hunter Strobel and Emma Strobel; brother and sisters-in-law, Howard and Thelma Ball of Hilliard, Ohio, Marty Ball of Knoxville, Tenn.; sister, Ruth Holycross of Rotonda West, Fla. As well as brothers-in-law, Carl Strobel of Greenville and Luther and Judy Strobel of North Star, Oh.; sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Hamilton of Greenville and Florence Beaver of Greenville, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Celebration will be held in June with a time, date and location to be announced. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Africa Cemetery near Lewis Center, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be given to the State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice of Darke County.
