Marguerite H. Shato

SHATO Marguerite H. Shato, age 95, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2010 at Arlington Court Nursing Home. Marguerite was born on February 23, 1915 in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was a member of the former Burgess Avenue United Methodist Church and Crossroad United Methodist Church. Marguerite was a 60 year member of the Robert Morris Chapter #372 Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine where she served as Past President of the White Shrine Patrol. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge #11 Golden Moose. Marguerite loved to cook, bake, garden and work around the house. She worked for 10 years with the Southwest City School as a cook at Franklin Heights High School. She would often make the staff homemade cinnamon rolls. Marguerite was very physically fit and enjoyed exercise and aerobics classes into her 80's. Preceded in death by her mother Nora Betz, husband Fred Shato and daughter Patricia Ann Pray. Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Katie Shato; son-in-law, John Pray; grandchildren, Tim Pray, Andie Shato and Abbie (Tory) Baughman; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Trent and Tanner. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad Street, where service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
