Marina was a jewel surrounded by a sea of stars. We were her stars. She cared about all of us. We are her future. We must carry on with all the good things she taught us; to be respectful, honest and to try our best. That is the greatest gift we could give to her to always do our best. DeSales Counselor

To my family,

I am so sorry about the loss of Marina. I haven't seen the Pica side in many years and I want you all to know. I send my dearest regrets and I love you all very much. I remember Marina as a very loving and caring woman. Her love for my Uncle Dominic was unconditional and I know she felt the same about everyone else.

Vera, Kevin and Gary and the Davis Familia: God speed to Marina and know the great difference she made in people's lives. Let that light ripple out beyond ourselves as she did. Michael Doody and the Class of 1974 DHS

To Vera, Kevin and Gary - My heart aches for you. One should never have to bury one's own child or even one's own sibling. This was such a shock. In a way it's almost like my own family what with all the years I've known you all since Gino's, Michael's, Italian Festival and just friendship in general.
Kevin and Gary - take good care of your Mom. She has been very good to all of us.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Mrs. Davis. She was an inspiration to those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was truly dedicated to the education of children who were enrolled at St. Francis DeSales. I have alot of memories of her and I during my time at DeSales, and she will be remembered always. May God comfort her family as she has been welcomed home by Jesus Christ our Saviour. Well done, well done Mrs. Davis.

December 21, 2009

On behalf of the St. Francis DeSales High School community I express our deepest sympathy. Both St. Francis DeSales and Dublin Scioto High School communities have lost a true difference maker. While both communities mourn the passing of this wonderful educator we rejoice in the knowledge that she has found her rightful place in the community of Saints.

She dedicated her life to helping children and at the end of her journey.
Jesus the True Master teacher has welcomed her to paradise.

Peace and God's Blessings,
Dan Garrick

Ms. Davis was one of my top five favorite teachers. She was certainly the best English teacher I ever had. I didn't know her as an administrator but I'm sure she brought the same no nonsense compassion to running a school as she did to her classroom. The world is a little worse off with the loss of her guiding hand on our children.

Marina, Since early childhood, You understood me when no one else did and into adulthood you supported me when no one else did. You helped me understand myself, gave me confidence, and encouraged me to stand on my own feet to do what was best for myself and my children. My entire life you have had your hand on my shoulder,You always told me that I could accomplish anything , and you never judged me for my mistakes. We are so much alike in so many ways and my heart aches. You helped raise me like I was your own child and helped me become the woman that I am!
Have comfort in knowing that I am by Marisa's side, joined at the hip just as we always have been!
I LOVE YOU!

Please accept my deepest sympathies. I went to school with Marina (Pica) a very long time ago and we knew each other as young girls. I always looked up to her and she was sort of my "big sister" at school. Thru the years I was aware of all her accomplishments and always heard others compliment her on her outstanding skills as a teacher and principle.

To the Family of Marina, Please accept my heartfelt condolences on Marina's passing. As most of you know, I knew her from my days at Saint Francis DeSales while I served as Assistant Band Director 1987-89 and she was the Assistant Principal. She was a fine person to all who had the privilege to know her. A special condolence to the "Dennis family: Phyllis & Eric, Jack, Ty, Joe, Tammy, John, Jerry," all of whom have been my friends these past twenty-two years. May God comfort you through this sad time during this Holy Season; and May His Perpetual Light shine upon Marina throughout all Eternity. God Bless You All.
