Maxine Howard Obituary

HOWARD Maxine M. Howard, born January 31, 1919 to Laura (Mayle) and Alonzo Adams, made her transition Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Hospital. Preceded in death by husband Marshall Howard, parents, brothers Raymond, Roscoe and Paul, sister Mildred. Survived by sister, Gertrude Sawyer of Columbus; "her girls", Rita RJ Jones and Shawna Burkham of Galena; grandson, Marshall "Dancing Elk" Lucas of Logan; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many treasured friends, including Jeanne Boorn and Chuck Davis. Maxine was a computer analyst, retired from DCSC. She was a longtime resident of Park Towers, loved music and had a lively sense of humor. Family will receive friends 10 a.m. to 12Noon Saturday, September 24, 2005 in the LONG FUNERAL HOME, 5528 Cleveland Ave. (one block south of SR 161), where a Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow, officiated by Minister Joanne Blum, of Unity East Church. Entombment Green Lawn Cemetery at later date. Many thanks to the caring staff at both Columbus Colony Elder Care and the Palliative Care Unit of St. Ann's Hospital, for the wonderful care given to Maxine.
