Michael Donohoe Obituary

Donohoe Michael Dominic Donohoe, 57, of Columbus, OH, died November 22, 2016 of a massive stroke. Michael was born in Seattle, WA to Josephine and the late Leo Pat and was the second of four children. Michael was team captain of Worthington High School's swim team and member of Worthington's famous Ten Man Kazoo Band. He graduated from Franklin University and worked as a Telecom Manager at Mettler Toledo. He was active in triathlon sports, racquetball, cooking, and officiating swim meets. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; children, Michael (Ginny) of Maui, HI, Kaitlyn (Adam) of Tacoma, WA, and Patrick of Cleveland; his mother, Josephine of Los Angeles; sister, Kathleen (Dale) of Calgary, Canada; brothers, Sean (Carrie) of Thousand Oaks, CA and Brian (Thalia) of Los Angeles; brothers-in-law Jack (Joanne) of CT, Bill (Della), Bob (Stephanie), and Pat (Amanda) of Columbus. He is also survived by nephews and nieces, Cavan, Connor, Jack, Ethan, John (Raisa), Ashley (Ken), Makano, Andy, Sam, Sophia, and Pat. Thank you to the healthcare professionals in the Silver Tower for the compassion and respect given to him and his family. Michael gave the gift of life through organ donation. Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 4661 Kenny Rd. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church 414 E. North Broadway Blvd. with a luncheon to follow the mass in Immaculate Conception Marian Center. Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association-American Stroke Association 5545 N. High St.. Columbus, OH 43214.

Just learned of Mike's passing and I, along with my coworkers here are absolutely stunned. Having met Mike and talked to him on the phone on many occasions he was such an easy person to talk to and was so genuine. Our hearts go out to the family for a good man gone too soon. We will miss you Mr. Donohoe.

Theresa, Mike, Kate, and Patrick please know my deepest sympathies I extend to each of you for your loss. I cannot in a few words tell you what a pleasure and what a personal reward it has been for me to know Mike, your dad, for the many years I have. We shared many things and we had much in common from our employer Mettler Toledo, to our passion for swimming and officiating, and to our love of riding motorcycles. (I'm sorry Theresa for I believe I am the guilty one and the one responsible for getting Mike involved in the last two:). Over the years and especially our many Monday morning' talks, I came to know and respect Mike for his work ethic and loyalty, his honesty and candor, his passion for those things in life he enjoyed, but I will especially recall Mike as a man who made each of you as his family the center of his life. While I will surely miss a valued friend and our daily friendship, I will internally celebrate Mike's own life and what he taught me by his example. I pray that Jesus in his loving mercy holds a place for Mike to live with him in eternity, and I pray the Holy Spirit and all the angels and saints bring peace, hope and strength to each and all of you.

Mike and I were really close friends in seventh and eighth grades at Perry Middle School. I remember him to this day and how much fun we had. So sorry to hear of his passing...a very good friend, now gone. Many condolences to his family.

My deepest condolences go out to the Donohoe family as they remain strong during this sudden loss. Sadly, I did not get to know Mr. Donohoe very well but I am good friends with his son Patrick. Through him, I have learned what a loving and caring father and husband he has been.
