I was sorry to learn of Mike's passing. I got to know Mike in our academy class at CPD and we always had a good time talking about aviation and other topics of the day. I hadn't seen Mike in a while, and it was a shock to hear the news.

You've lost a good man. Sorry for the loss of Mike.

My deepest sympathies to your family. I met Mike at Bob's Train on a photo shoot the day of his passing and enjoyed talking photography in our small group at lunch. He had a passion for it and shared his card. All who knew him better espressed what a fine man he was and I know his family was everything to him.

Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that the Stalnaker Family will be remembered in my prayers. I knew Mike from his days with the US Army Reserves Aviation, in Columbus, Ohio. He contributed his knowledge and experience from active duty; however, what I will remember most is that he always willing to share. He shared his knowledge, his time, and many wonderful stories about his life experiences. I always remember and cherish the many hours that we spent together and the stories and experiences that we shared.

Shocked and saddened by this loss. I flew Hueys with Mike in the reserves here in Columbus. I was a new PIC and Mike was just transitioning from active duty UH60's in to our old Hueys. We had a lot of fun flying together. Exceptional pilot, great guy, funny guy, and so generous with his time and friendship. Just so sad to see this. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Stalnaker family.

Michael L. Stalnaker, a true hero, my cousin who was like a brother to me. Michael excelled in everything he did in this life here on earth. From his black belt and honors in martial arts. To the Army, he became a Military Policeman then he earned his flight wings. He flew Black Hawks and fought in combat. On to a Police Officer at the Columbus Police Dept., undercover narcs to SWAT. His accomplishments are amazing. He even went on to become an exquisite photograher, his eye working through the lens of the camera was amazing. He will be missed dearly by the rest of his family in Ohio and Alabama. I know that God will comfort our hearts and soul but we will never be healed from the whole that is left from the loss of Michael.

Michael Stalnaker, a true hero, my cousin who was like a brother to me. Michael will be so crazy missed by our family. Michael excelled at everything he did in his life. Martial arts, we was also the best. The Army, being a military policeman to earning his flight wings to become a pilot. Flying Black Hawks and being in combat. To the Stalnaker family:
You have our deepest regrets. We only knew Mike a brief period of time, but Tyler has been in our family since he was little. We knew Mike must have been a great man because of how Tyler was raised. He's like a son to us. You all are in our hearts. We'll always be here for you all. Love,

To my other family:
I love you all so very much. Mike was a great person, loving father, and a happy husband. He was always full of energy and smiles, and his laugh was more contagious than the chicken pox. I'll never forget a moment of his kindness, sincereity, or abundance of love he had for all of you. He will be missed, but never forgotten. I love you all. And if you need anything, I am always here for you.
