Alice,
My sister-in-law saw Michael's obituary in the paper and called my dad and I to let us know about his passing. I'm sorry that we could not attend his services but dad and I were in Memphis visiting my brother. Michael was a kind, warm-hearted and generous man who leaves behind many people who will cherish him and the admirable life he lead. I hope the wonderful memories that you have of him will stay close in your heart to get you through in your time of sorrow. I will continue to pray for Jeff, Tim and you, that God may grant you peace and strength during this most difficult time. Once again, my deepest condolences to you and your family.

My late husband Bill Maxwell knew Michael through the Restaurant Association. He appreciated Michael's ideas and hard work. You have my most sincere sympathies. Remember and cherish the happy times.

Dear Alice, Tim and Jeff,
My heart is very heavy with the news of Michael's passing. He meant the world to me. There is no other man that I have ever worked for that has taught me more than he did. I remember the day while in my office that I heard Michael on the phone with a client saying very loudly "I have a dream!" No one knew how much "the dream" meant to him as much as I did. Please keep his dream alive!
Sincerely,
Peggy Kaplan
