Nancy Meyer Obituary

Meyer, Nancy Mae (Schram)
Nancy Mae (Schram) Meyer, passed away Monday, November 27, at Riverside Methodist Hospital after a nearly two-year battle with colon cancer. Nancy was a 1952 graduate of Holy Family High School, followed by Mount Carmel School of Nursing where she earned her R.N. She spent her life caring for others, whether patients, family, friends -- or the organizations she gave her time to like Lifecare Alliance Meals-on-Wheels and Inniswood Metro Gardens. Nancy and her husband, John, of 46 years were original homeowners in Sharon Woods and were loyal members of the Civic Association and community. Nancy had a green thumb and was passionate about gardening and beautifying her yard. She also had a soft spot for wildlife and animals, and rescued many dogs and cats over the years, including her beloved dog Mitzi who will miss her dearly. We were blessed with many valuable lessons from Nancy over the years including the importance of Sunday family dinners, her passion for coupons and the ability to hack anything with a little duct tape and love. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband John R. Meyer, her brother William Schram, sisters-in-law Mary, Martha and Margaret Meyer and brother-in-law Charles (Orma) Meyer. Nancy is survived by her daughters, Regina Meyer and Lisa Meyer; brother, Frank (Lois) Schram; sister-in-law, Myriam Schram; nieces and nephews, Melissa (Chris) Twombly, Angie (Rick) Sheidler, Cassie (Kris Butterbaugh) Schram, Mike (Sharon) Meyer, Sue (Gerry) Paglione, and Cathie (Allyn Brehl) Rheinfrank; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Friends may call at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd, Friday, December 1 from 9:30-11 AM. Mass of Christian Burial immediately following, Fr. John Vadakkettom and Fr. Ramon Owera, celebrants. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions if desired may be made to Cat Welfare Association, 741 Wetmore Rd, Columbus, OH 43214 or Holy Family Soup Kitchen, 57 S. Grubb St, Columbus, OH 43215. Lisa and Regina, I am so sorry to hear that your mother has passed. Sorry I cannot be there for her Mass, but both of you and Nancy are in my thoughts and Prayers.
We had been neighbors for 27 years and both your Mom and Dad were the best of neighbors. Nancy will be surely missed.
I took the picture below at Shannon's Wedding. All the neighbors sat together and had a great time.
