Nelson Wilson Obituary

WILSON Nelson Robert "Bob" Wilson, Jr., age 69, of Dublin, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 21, 2006 at his residence. He was born August 28, 1936 in Sidney, Ohio the son of Geraldine (Wyer) and Nelson Robert Wilson, Sr. He graduated from Sidney High School, Class of 1955, and worked for various contracting companies during his 47 year career. In 1982, he founded his own company, Danbert, Inc., where he specialized in underground utilities. Since its inception, his company has grown to 25 employees in 2006. He was very proud of the fact that nearly every interstate highway in Ohio and West Virginia has been influenced in some way by him. Bob served as a past president of the Ohio Contractor's Association and was a member of the Association of General Contractors and Indian Run United Methodist Church. Bob was also a former member of the Engineer's Club and the Lion's Club. Above all else, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson Wilson, Sr. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Gerry Wilson; mother, Geraldine A. Wilson of Sidney, Ohio; sons, Rob (Theresa) Wilson of Columbus, Ohio and Dave Wilson of Milford Center, Ohio; daughter, Linda (Kenny) Parker of Columbus, Ohio; step-daughter, Theresa Vetter of Columbus, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, Jason, Natalie, Josh, Zach, Ashley, Caitlin, Noah, Jacob, Benjamin, Hannah, Whittney, Madeleine, and Jonathan; sisters, Sue (Gary) Van Fossen of Sidney, Ohio and Judy (Dick) Helmer of Palm Springs, California; brothers, Jim Wilson of Sidney, Ohio and Jack (Kathy) Wilson of Rochester, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Indian Run United Methodist Church, 6305 Brand Road, Dublin, where a reception will immediately follow the service. Rev. Jim Lillibridge will officiate. The interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Point Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio. If desired, contributions may be made to Charity Newsies, 4300 Indianola Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43214 or to the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1100 Dennison Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201 in his memory. I am so saddended by the passing of Nelson - a former neighbor growing up in our childhood, a playmate and a classmate of the class of 55.
