Just a short note to express my symphany on the passing of Coach Eck. Bob Oakley ( who called me about Paul's passing) and I enjoyed our days with Paul as our baseball coach at Whetstone from '62-64. We won the city championship in '64 because of his leadership. A man who branched out to be successful in many different avenues of life, will be remember as a great husband, father and person. He high energy will always be remembered.

Sandy & Family,

Although it had been a number of years since I had the pleasure of seeing Paul, know that the principals and integrity that he taught me in business still reside with me today.

He is one of three mentors in my life that have enabled me to grow both personally and professionally.

I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to work with him!

Sandy - You and I shared a very short friendship of sorts while my husband was at First Community and we met coming and going. I was very sorry to read of Paul's passing, and I know that while the last months have been a difficult, stressful time you will feel an aching hole. You have been an inspiration to me with your undying love and steadfast care of both your husband and son. God bless your entire family and grant Paul eternal peace and happiness. I will always remember you with admiration and gain strength from your example.

I was very saddened to hear of Paul's passing, and I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to his devoted family and friends. He was a valued teacher, coach and mentor of mine in high school, and while I doubt that he ever fully knew it, his messages, principles and overall impact on me were true gifts that I have carried with me ever since. I know that many others in my class feel exactly the same way, and thus while we will miss him, I am very proud to say that he lives on in all of us.

May God Bless You, Paul.

Mrs E and family, know that your husband and Father remains an inspiration to those he coached. He taught dogged persistence on and off the baseball field that I know has served me well. His favorite 4 letter word that rhymes with "trap" taught us alternatives to foul language! Thanks for sharing this great man and his talents with so many of us from Whetstone HIgh. I hope to rejoin Coach on some field of dreams someday. Rick Trout, Key Largo, FL
