1958 - 2021
Margaret "Peggy" Lee Junker, beloved mother, teacher, and servant of the Lord, age 62, passed away suddenly but peacefully at her home in Columbus, Ohio on February 8, 2021. Peggy dedicated her entire life to serving and educating others and her loss is deeply felt throughout the communities she impacted. Peggy was born on May 14, 1958 in Grand Rapids, MI and moved with her family to Lancaster, OH in 1964. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1976 and went on to study Music Education & Vocal Performance at Elon University in North Carolina as a Presser Music Scholar. Peggy worked at Veritas Christian Academy for 20 years. Her roles during that time include school administrator, music history teacher, choir teacher, and leading the school assembly biblical teachings. Peggy was a devout follower of Jesus and her unwavering devotion to her faith was interwoven in everything she did. Peggy also spent her weekends volunteering her time as a worship leader for the children's ministry at Vineyard Columbus. In 2006, Peggy was diagnosed with breast cancer and courageously underwent chemotherapy treatment and in 2010 Peggy was declared cancer free which she remained for the rest of her life. Her strength and perseverance during her battle was an inspiration and testament to her stoic resilience in the face of adversity. I remember Peggy singing at my summer church camp (So much talent). I remember her beautiful smile and welcoming "hello" every time she saw me. Her sweet, peaceful spirit will remain with all of you. I am sure she, Mac, Polly and Dick are enjoying games and laughs and long walks together. I like to think they stop from time to time to say hi to my parents and Randy. Peace and love to you all.
